WELCOME TO TOUCHUM 2010!
Welcome to Touch UM 2010. This year is set to be an exciting year with the club aiming to send members to 5 out of the 6 states of Australia. In addition to this the club will continue to participate in local competition and run training sessions throughout the entire year. Below are a few key points on current and recently passed events.2009 AGM
The minutes from the 2009 AGM along with the clubs Financial Statement and Presidents Report are all attached to this email. There are some good highlights from the year for those of you who missed the AGM, so have a read.
2010 Sporting Calendar:
The rough calendar for the 2010 touch season is attached to this email. It has within it the dates of tournament, competitions and other major functions. In addition to these events there will be a raft of social events scattered throughout the year so keep checking facebook and emails to find out when they are. With this calendar you can pencil in touch events for later in the year to ensure you do not miss out.
2010 Membership
Membership for our club will commence during Melbourne Universities O-Week, in the last week of February. There is an exciting new membership package being put together including training singlets and other goodies. So please get to us and sign up.
Tournaments:
The club is sending a large squad along to a tournament in Yass (country NSW) in late January. Teams will commence training this week (see times below) but is still room for more players if people are interested. Please contact Tim Glazebrook on 0424 719 636 if you are interested.
Another tournament the club is looking at heading to is the Colley 5-a-side tournament. Dates can be found on the calendar (attached) but if people are interested could they please contact Paul Rogers on 0409 180 052 to register their interest or if you would like more information. Further emails will be sent duing the two weeks with more information, but register your interest early so team selection can take place.
Alternatively you can contact us via email with any inquiry about these two tournaments.
Club Trainings:
Trainings kick back up this week on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Although these training will be focused on getting teams for our upcoming tournaments working together ALL CLUB MEMBERS are welcome to attend.
For January and February our training times will be:
Tuesday 7.30pm - 9.30pm
2009 Touch UM AGM
This year we have had many triumphs both on and off the field. Please come along and help us celebrate these in out 2009 AGM.For those of you who are confused and are wondering why we are having another AGM so soon. It is because we changed our financial year and needed to have a bi-annual AGM.

Where: -The Clyde- Carlton (cnr of Cardigan and Elgin Streets)
When: FRIDAY the 11th of DECEMBER 2009
So you may be asking why should I come along? Well, this is your opportunity to see how the club has gone throughout the year, not just in terms of its on field performances but the financial and other off field successes of the year will be revealed to all.
It is also the time where you can nominate yourself for a position on this years committee. A nomination from is attached and should be returned to Paul Rogers by Thursday December 10th.
VT League Finals
VT-League finals are on this Saturday at the Port Melbourne Soccer Club. (Jasper Rd, Port Melbourne)
Games kick off at 2pm and finish at about 7.45. TouchUM members will be featured in almost every timeslot and we would all appreciate a big support crew.
It is generally a really nice afternoon with a few cold ones and some good company so get along to see some good touch.
In addition, the UniBlues franchise will be hosting the world biggest party at the Melbourne Uni Cricket Pavillion on the saturday night. TouchUM members are welcome.
Training
Training will continue tonight regardless of the weather. If it is raining we do look to book inside facilities (basketball, squash court, boxing or cycling rooms) so please still get along.
It would be great to see numbers at training increase again as we do have many people turning up just to coach, so lets make use of them.
