Touch UM sent three teams up the Hume Hwy to dominate in the 2009 Yass Knockout competition - Men's, Women's and Mixed. After surviving the thunder storm and resulting town water contamination the previous night, the sun came out and each team tested their skills in four grading games. Due to the excellent standard of NSW touch, our teams were really tested and only a few wins were picked up.
The next day was knock out finals in our respective divisions, Mens in C, Womens in B and Mixed in B grades. The Wimens battled hard but couldn't hold of a UTS attack going down 17-2. The Mixed side dominated its firt game despite some bery hungover/tired individuals from the great night life that is offered by Yass, only to go down in the final quarter finals to Albury 13-8.
The highlight defintely went to the Touch UM Mens side who after narrowly defeating a team of 12 year olds made it to the C grade Final! Improving after every game they took it to the Southern Suns, where Heathcote scooted to get the winning score, 7-6. A great weekend was head by all and made that bit easier by our volunteer team, thanks guys!
