2009 is looking to be one of TouchUM's biggest years yet. We have already amassed almost $2000 in prize money from tournaments this year and are looking to back it up with wins at Affiliates' Cup this weekend and the Sale Knockout at the end of March.
However, the club is nothing without its members, right?
As you may or may not know, this week is O-Week at uni and so there will be a table at North Court on Clubs Day on Thursday. Membership this year is $20 if you sign up on the day and includes a showbag containing a training singlet, keyring, and various other goodies. This is $5 cheaper than if you sign up at any other point in the year. Don't worry if you can't make it down on Thursday though, because we have a second day, next Wednesday (March 4th) which will be held on the concrete lawns. There will be a passing competition with great prizes as well so come and give it a shot. You can purchase one of our brand new TouchUM hoodies on either day for just $35. Finally, the first 20 previous members to pay up will recieve a bonus surprise item - so it pays to get in quick!
Training will commence on Tuesdays 5-7pm beginning tonight at the hockey pitch and running right through the year. We will also be training on Sundays (TBA) with a fitness session. Social events will begin next week with our TouchUM Tour de Pub (details to follow).
So make sure you head down and see us this Thursday to take part in what will be a great year ahead!
